Mediating role of academic resilience in relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout among students of Islamic Azad University of Neyshabur

The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the mediating role of academic resilience in the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout in psychology undergraduate and graduate students of the Islamic Azad University of Neyshabur in the academic year of 2022-2023. The research method was a descriptive-correlation type and the statistical population included all undergraduate and graduate students of psychology at the Islamic Azad University of Neyshabur, numbering 587 people, of which 232 people were selected using the Morgan table and available sampling. became In order to collect the required data, the academic burnout scales of Shaofli, Martinez, Pinto, Salanova and Bakker (2002),, perfectionism of Tri-Short, Owens and Dewey (1995) and academic resilience of Cassidy (2016) were used. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson correlation method and structural equation modeling using SPSS24 and AMOS24 software. The results of the research showed that there is a significant relationship between the dimensions of perfectionism (positive and negative) and academic burnout. Also, there is a significant relationship between the dimensions of perfectionism (positive and negative) and academic resilience. Finally, the mediating role of academic resilience in the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout was confirmed. Key words: perfectionism, academic burnout, academic resilience.
