Investigating the Relationship between Creative Self-efficacy and Academic Attitude: The Mediating Role of Academic Vitality (Case Study: High School Male and Female Students in Sabzevar)

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between creative self-efficacy and students' motivation with the mediation of academic vitality in male and female high school students in Sabzevar in the academic year 1398-99. The research method is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of collecting descriptive and correlational information based on structural equations. The statistical population included all male and female high school students in Sabzevar in the academic year of 1398-99 in the number of 8000, of which 360 were selected as a sample based on Morgan table. Standard questionnaires (Morris (2001) Creative Self-Efficacy, Fredericks, Bloomfied and Paris (2004) and Martin and Marsh (2006) Academic Vitality were used to assess the effective factors. The data obtained at the level of descriptive statistics were analyzed using statistical characteristics and at the level of inferential statistics from Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation model with the help of SPSS and LISREL software version 8.8. The results showed that creative self-efficacy, both directly and indirectly due to academic vitality, plays a key role in students' academic motivation. Vitality also has a positive, direct and significant effect on academic motivation.
