Thesis:
The Role of Parental Involvement in the Use of the SHAD Educational Application on Self-Regulated Learning and Academic Anxiety of Fourth-Grade Students in Sabzevar
The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of parental involvement in the use of the SHAD educational application on the self-regulated learning and academic anxiety of fourth-grade students in Sabzevar. This research is applied in terms of objective, and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection method. In this design, the relationships between the research variables are examined without any manipulation. The statistical population of this study included all fourth-grade male and female elementary students (and their parents) in public and private schools of Sabzevar during the 1404_1405 (2025-2026) academic year. The sample size was calculated using common formulas for regression analysis (considering the test power and the number of predictor variables), and it is estimated that about 250 students (along with one of their parents) were included in the sample. The data collection tools included the Researcher-Made Parental Involvement in Virtual Education Questionnaire, the Zimmerman and Pons (1988) Self-Regulated Learning Questionnaire, and the Spence Children’s Anxiety Scale (1998). In this study, the data were analyzed using SPSS 28 software. The results showed that parental involvement in using the SHAD application predicts the self-regulated learning and academic anxiety of fourth-grade students in Sabzevar. There is a statistically significant positive relationship (0.43) between parental involvement and students’ self-regulation, as its significance level (0.001) is less than 0.05. In other words, parental involvement explains about 19 percent of students’ self-regulation. There is a statistically significant negative relationship (-0.39) between parental involvement and students’ academic anxiety, as its significance level (0.001) is less than 0.05. In other words, parental involvement explains about 15 percent of students’ self-regulation [as stated in the original text].
