Abstract Poetic imagery is one of the main elements of poetry and an important criterion for literary critics. The imagination created by the combination of objects, words and emotions when creating a work of art adds to the appeal of the poem, making it more beautiful and engaging to the audience and the listener. The poets' mastery over the artistic imagery is due to their special taste and privilege and their superiority over each other. In this study, the artistic imagery in Shahriar's poetry, Ebtehaj and Shafi'i codecan is examined. The findings of the study show that these poets were highly skilled at using artistic imagery to express their goals, which were sometimes social and political. It consists of four chapters. In chapter one, the research in general, in chapter two, the theoretical foundations of research, in chapter three, romantic imagery and in chapter four, symbolic images in the poetry of these poets are examined.
