Abstarct Looking at past literary works from the angle of topics, theories and Contemporary literary criticism is a way of closing the gap with the value of such work and the secret to their longevity is more and more evident and steps to be taken to link traditional and contemporary literature. Ferdowsi is Iran's greatest epic poem and Shahnameh in Persian literature is as valuable epic that it can be analyzed from different perspectives. One of these angles is looking at the character of the story; Because character is the most important story elements; So that if there is no character in the story, the story will not happen. Characters in Shahnameh have been processed direct and indirect methods and Ferdowsi toward element of character had deliberation, and precision. This research has been developed aims to familiarize the reader with the methods of Characterizations in Shahnameh and And tried to displayed Hakim Ferdowsi's ability to deal with characters stories. This study has three general parts, at first, studied to generalities and theoretical foundations and contains three chapters with names, look to story and characterization, comparing traditional and modern elements in the story and familiar with storytelling in myth and epic. The second part focuses the life of Hakim Ferdowsi and Shahnameh and in the third part, athletics section of Shahnameh is divided into seventeen great story.
