The purpose of this study is to investigate the ontological point of view in Nahj Al-Balagha drawn up in two major chapters including the public affairs and theology in a particular sense. The public affairs chapter is concerned with the issues that can be inferred from Imam Ali's words in a way or other including the triple substances, the new and the old, cause and effect, power and action, and the second chapter deals with theology in a particular sense in Nahj Al-Balagha. This chapter deals with a discussion concerning God from various aspects such as the importance and the theology ranks, the proofs for recognition of God and kinds of unification. Regarding the theological attributes the divine knowledge is considered. Concerning the divine actions, the destiny and fate and determination and delegation are studied. All the issues mentioned above are understood from Imam Ali's words. The invaluable points can be extracted from them. The results show that Imam Ali is the first person in the Muslim world who has discussed the intellectual and abstract divine issues documented and with proofs. With regard to his words concerning theology, it is proved that one of the certain ways for the recognition of Allah and his attributes and understating the issues concerning theology the intellectual reasoning and proofs.
