Evaluating the effectiveness of the work of Peace Partners Organization in promoting local restorative justice (a case study of Mashhad Peace Organization Branch ۴۱۲۱)

One of the new institutions in the Dispute Resolution Council, which was established with the aim of promoting the components of restorative justice, is the Peace Helpers Institution. In this research, we are trying to evaluate the effect of the work of Peace Helpers in promoting restorative justice. One of the active branches in this field has also been analyzed. In general, it can be said that these institutions, by using some common components of restorative justice, such as the use of mediation, compromise, compensation, creating face-to-face meetings, family meetings, and group meetings, have had a significant impact on the discussion of peace and reconciliation in cases. Among the main challenges in the discussion related to the performance of these institutions are the lack of authority related to the possibility of handling cases, the judicial nature of the dispute resolution council, the symmetry between judicial proceedings and conciliation, and the limited jurisdiction of these institutions. Since these institutions have a great effect on encouraging and inciting the offender to take restorative measures and create a balance between the reaction and the response rate of the offender and prevent the repetition of the offense, they are of great importance. Promoting such institutions can have a great effect on reducing the volume of cases. in judicial courts as well as reforming and returning criminals to society.
