The Relationship between Religious Beliefs and Self-Esteem with Motivation for Academic Achievement in First High School Students in Sabzevar

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between religious beliefs and self-confidence with the motivation of academic achievement of first grade high school students in Sabzevar. The method of this research is descriptive-correlational. The study population consists of all students who are studying in Sabzevar in 1398 in the boys' secondary school. According to the report prepared in 1998, their number is 6500 people. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus virus and the subsequent closure of schools across the country, a statistical sample of only 150 people from the target population are selected by available sampling. Data collection tools: Hermans Progress Motivation Questionnaire, Farzianpour et al.'s (2012) students 'self-confidence questionnaire and Lotfabadi students' religious status questionnaire (2002). In order to investigate the research hypotheses, correlation and simple regression analysis using SPSS software were used. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation were used. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between religious beliefs and self-confidence with the motivation of academic achievement of first grade high school students in Sabzevar.
