Examining the jurisdiction of the family court subject to Article 4 of the Family Protection Law approved in 2013

The Family Court is one of the specialized courts that can only handle matters within its jurisdiction. The Family Protection Law specifies the cases in which the Family Court has jurisdiction. Divorce, dowry, alimony, custody, remarriage, or forced guardianship are among the cases within the jurisdiction of the Family Court. The purpose of this study, which is written in a descriptive-analytical manner, is to examine the subject matter jurisdiction of the Family Court under Article 4 of the Family Protection Law of 2013. The results showed that the Family Court is a specialized authority established to handle family cases. The jurisdiction of the Family Court is limited to the eighteen cases that were stated, such as dowry, conditions of marriage, remarriage, custody and visitation of the child, gender reassignment, etc. The Family Court will not have jurisdiction to handle the matter in any other cases except in these eighteen cases.
