Characterization, description and tone in the work of Bijan Najdi

Bijan Najdi is a prolific wirter whose stories are in the style of realism and ultra- realism. Najdi is one of the pioneers of postmodern storytelling in this period. Styles and symbols of realisn, from tangible life characters, as well as, innate sense of inanimate objects, are evident in varius parts of some of the Najdi. Stories, which in turn, is clearly reflected in the mind of the reader of the book. This study attempts to open a new window to readers through a Library research method which includes characterization, description, and tone, as well as the study of the linguistic, rhetorical, and poetic features of his stories that have given his style a distinctive character. This thesis consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, the aims and objectives are described. In the second chapter, after theoretical discussions, descriptions of Bijan Najdi's works and writing characteristics of his stories are discussed, in the third chapterm we study the characterization, description, and tone of Najdi's stories, as well as summaries of his three collections named, "Cheetahs Runing with Me," "Again From the same Streets," and "Unfinished Stories". Finally, in the last chapter, the Najdi's thoughts are summarized. From the point of view of Najdi's characterization, he has created simple, sincere people who are all unique in their size and easily understood and identifiable. The sescriptions are delicate and poetic with tangible spacecraft approaching cinematic imagery. Like other element, the tone has a direct relation to the theme and content of the story.
