Effects of executive executives, financial weakness and financial crisis on the intensity of research and development

This research studies the impact of internal managers, financial weakness and financial crisis on the intensity of research and development. In line with the research goal, 144 companies from listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange during the period 2012 to 2017 were investigated. The collected data were analyzed using the combined data method using generalized least squares regression. According to the statistical methods, the hypotheses were tested. The results at 95% confidence level showed a significant and negative relationship between financial weakness and the intensity of research and development. Also, the number of internal managers positively correlates the negative relationship between financial weakness and the intensity of research and development. In addition, the financial crisis does not modify the relationship between financial weakness and the intensity of research and development and has a negative and significant relationship between the financial weakness and the intensity of research and development.
