وظایف و اختیارات والدین در تربیت کودک در حقوق ایران و اسناد بین المللی
حقوق انسانها در تمام دوران زندگی بشر همیشه مورد توجه بوده است، افراد سعی دارند تا به بهترین نحو به این حقوق دست پیدا کنند و از آن استفاده ببرند. در این بین افرادی به نام کودکان وجود دارند که به تنهایی نمی‌توانند از حقوق خود دفاع و از آن استیفا نمایند. آنان به واسطه محدودیت‌های طبیعی و اجتماعی بیش از سایر اقشار جامعه آسیب‌پذیر بوده و خطرهای جسمی، روحی و تربیتی آنها را تهدید می‌نماید. این قانون‌گذار، والدین و سازمان‌های بین‌المللی هستند که باید از حقوق کودک دفاع و امکان اجرای مطلوب و همچنین ضمانت اجرای آن را فراهم آورند.
یکی از نیازهای اساسی والدین و مربیان در امر تربیت و پرورش اخلاقی کودکان، برقراری ارتباط سالم با آنهاست.ارتباط صحیح بین پدر و مادر و روابط سالم آنان با کودکان، اولین و مهمترین زمینه رشد و پرورش اخلاقی نونهالان است.اساس تربیت سالم فرزندان جامعه، بستگی کامل به سلامتی خانواده دارد و سلامتی خانواده مستلزم ارتباط سالم بین اعضای خانواده است. پدر و مادر مسئول سلامت و رشد جسمی و روحی و مهم ترین عامل سعادت و یا شقاوت فرزندان خود هستند، هر چه آنها در این زمینه سرمایه گذاری و تلاش بیشتری کنند نتیجه و ثمر آن را در آینده بیشتر خواهند دید.حساس ترین وظیفه پدر و مادر در برابر فرزندانشان، تربیت صحیح آنان است.
