M.A. Thesis:

the investigation of paradoxical thoughts in hadiqat-al-haqiqa and sanais divan

This thesis includes a review and investigation of paradoxical ideas in Sanaii’s Divan(Poetical Works) and Hadighat-al-Haghigha. In general, contradictory, paradoxicality can be discussed in two poetic and intellectual basis. What is now known as "paradoxical" in Persian literature, in fact, is its field of poetry, which is also in the field of poetics and literary arts, under the "figurative rhetoric" and is known as an art or figures of speech . But the paradoxes in the intellectual field are, in fact, a poet’s or a writer’s contradictory words and ideas which the author of this research dealt with, so with this in mind, the dominant look in this research will be critical, a literary type (literary criticism), the same thing which has unfortunately been neglected in our literary research today, and less taken into consideration. This thesis has been set in five chapters, including: literature, its theoretical foundations , the Sanaii’s life and his works and poems, examples of Sanaii’s contradictory ideas in Hadighah and Divan and at last, the conclusions. In the fourth chapter which is the most important part of this thesis, Sanaii’s contradictory viewpoints are explained about wisdom and knowledge, philosophy, intercession, fate, life and death ,etc.
